Discovery, development, and commercialisation of the worlds most efficient biogas to hydrogen plant
BACKGROUND
Our client possesses a platform technology for producing advanced catalyst materials. They were seeking a credible and scalable application of their material within the energy sector. Their aim was to identify an unresolved problem where their technology could enable the development of a unique solution that offers significant commercial potential.
OUR WORK
Key results
We created a capital-friendly and scalable technology to produce hydrogen at less than the world target price of $2/kg. We secured pre-seed funding, proved the concept of the technology, and secured the interest of their first potential customers.
We developed a bench-scale modular hydrogen production plant concept that could be economically viable at the targeted production scale.
In close collaboration with our client, we validated the concept at a leading Australian university, demonstrating the feasibility of producing green hydrogen at low temperatures and pressure. This proof of concept establishes a more sustainable and commercially viable process.
We conducted an in-depth environmental impact assessment, showcasing the technology's potential for achieving emissions reductions of up to 70%.
Identifying two early-stage customers and potential sites for scaling up the plant, we took proactive steps towards future implementation.
Furthermore, we successfully drafted, negotiated, and executed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Council interested in utilising our technology for renewable hydrogen production.
To support the technology's advancement, we secured the interest of a prominent waste management company. They not only agreed to co-fund the project but also provided significant pilot sites to showcase the technology's capabilities.
Through significant capital-raising efforts and strategic partnerships, we have accelerated the development and commercialisation of this groundbreaking technology.
