Privacy Policy
Scimita builds its marketing database through informed permission, uses contact information within that permission and promptly respects requests to stop. This policy covers electronic marketing sent by Scimita, including webinar invitations, newsletters, promotional reminders, recording promotions and business development campaigns.
*************************************************************
What information we collect and how we use it
We record your email address and name, where provided, together with the source, date, method, wording and scope of your consent. We also retain evidence of permission, your subscription status and any withdrawal requests. We use these records to send communications you have agreed to receive, manage your preferences and prevent unwanted marketing.
Your consent and communication choices
Scimita requires documented express consent before adding you to its email marketing audience. Consent must identify Scimita and explain the communications you agree to receive. Subscription choices are separate, optional and unticked at signup, with access to a privacy notice.
The proposed choices are:
Scimita Insights & News: a monthly digest of deep tech insights, selected case studies, company news and upcoming activities.
Webinars & Events: relevant invitations and associated recordings, with one consolidated invitation per week while a series is running.
Thought Leadership Pieces: monthly papers on deep tech innovation, the ecosystem and attracting capital to long-term opportunities.
Collaboration & Innovation Opportunities: occasional, relevant opportunities involving research, technology development, industry challenges or Foundry initiatives.
Optional topic preferences cover commercialisation, Foundry and investment; process modelling and technology development; circular economy and resource recovery; and critical minerals and mineral processing. You may select multiple topics or all topics. Topic selections help tailor relevance and do not create duplicate emails. A monthly-digest-only preference will also be available.
Webinar registration
Registering for a webinar permits communications needed for that event, including confirmation, joining instructions, changes, necessary attendance reminders and any recording promised at registration. It does not automatically subscribe you to future webinars or general marketing.
If you unsubscribe from marketing, necessary communications for an event you requested may continue, limited to that event and without added promotion.
Who we may contact
Existing subscribers may receive marketing only where retained consent covers the content. A client relationship, business card, LinkedIn connection, partner’s address book, conference list or public directory does not by itself qualify someone for marketing. Purchased, scraped or harvested lists are prohibited. Contacts without established consent are excluded, and previously unsubscribed contacts require fresh, recorded permission.
Email standards and unsubscribing
Marketing emails will identify Scimita, provide accurate business contact details and a monitored reply address, explain why you are receiving the message, and include a prominent, working unsubscribe facility. Content will remain within your consent.
You may manage your preferences or unsubscribe from all Scimita email marketing. Requests made by reply, telephone or through a team member follow the same process. Automated suppression is immediate; manual requests are actioned within one working day. A general withdrawal applies across all Scimita email marketing lists and systems.
Records and responsibility
Consent evidence is retained while Scimita relies on it. We maintain the minimum suppression record needed to prevent accidental re-subscription, with restricted access and a documented retention review.
